Harare – The procession could easily have been mistaken for just another of the many processions being held to alert the public to an issue. But that was not the case. This particular procession was different: Not only were there police dogs on tow but members of the Zimbabwe police force were also moving around with samples of some of the commonly-abused drugs for the public to see.

Harare – Women in peacekeeping: the Power to Empower was the theme of this years’ International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers Commemoration. This theme provided an opportunity to bring to the fore the thousands of women who have contributed towards peacekeeping efforts through the United Nations Peacekeeping missions.

Over 20 000 people, most of whom were women, thronged City Sports Centre in Harare to commemorate International Women’s Day on 20 March.
